This is my 24th year teaching.  I currently teach PE, Health and STEPS.  I have taught PE/Health for the majority of my career, but also have experience teaching Special Education and at an Alternative Learning Center.  I have coached a variety of sports in my career, but Football is my main passion.  

Personal info:  Married to Stacie.  We have 4 kids: Kendra (6th grade), Kolton (5th Grade), Noah (3rd Grade), Alice (Kindergarten), Dog Axel and Cat George.

I have been teaching Physical Education and Health since 2009 in Pillager but have been teaching since 2004. I have three wonderful boys who keep me busy and love being a husky. I enjoy spending my free time outside fishing, hiking, or playing sports. 
I teach K-12 Developmental Adaptive Physical Education, 7th grade health, High School health, Outdoor Adventures, online walking and Lifetime sports. I get the privilege of coaching the Unified Special Olympic team.

My name is Paul Peterson. I'm originally from Two Harbors, MN, graduated from Bemidji State University and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of St. Thomas in MN.  

I started teaching and coaching in 1992 in North Dakota at Schroeder Middle School and Red River High School in Grand Forks then Larimore Schools.  In 2015, we moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family and that brought us to Pillager where I’ve taught and coached the last eight years.  Currently teaching Middle School Physical Education: Grade 6, 7,& 8 PE and Fitness 5/6 & 7/8.

My wife, Nancy, and I are the parents of three boys: PJ, Jake, and Erik.  I look forward to helping Pillager students have fun while learning how to do things the Husky Way.

My name is Kent Janicke, and I am proud to be at the Pillager School District!! I am from
Warroad, Minnesota. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Health
Education from the University of North Dakota and Bemidji State University. I am certified to
teach K-12 Physical Education, Health Education, and Drivers Education. This will be my 4th
year at the Pillager School District after 25 years at Greenbush - Middle River, MN and one year at Wahpeton, ND. I am currently teaching Elementary Physical Education, Drivers Education
and an Assistant fastpitch softball coach. Go Huskies!!


I have three daughters and three grandchildren, Deaken 6, Delena 3 and Bridger 1. I enjoy
outdoor activities, coaching and watching High School and college sports. Most of all enjoy
spending time with family and friends.

Hello, My name is Chris Kappler.  I have been teaching and coaching for 14 years. I am currently teaching Middle School Health and by assignment.  I have been coaching Football and Track.

I am a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with majors in Physical Education and Health Education with a minor in coaching.  I continued my education at Southwest Minnesota State with a Masters in Educational Leadership.

I have been part of the Pillager Fire Department since 2015.

I have lived in the Brainerd Lakes area since 2009, with my family, Jen, Kirby and Kora.
